Methodology

Rates are average residential retail electricity prices per kilowatt-hour, sourced from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) Electric Power Monthly, Table 5.6.A. The UK rate reflects the current Ofgem energy price cap. Figures are rounded to the nearest cent and reviewed quarterly.
